Tamil star Ajith's upcoming movie, Venkat Prabhu directed Cloud Nine produced Mankatha which was to release on the star's birthday (May 1), has been postponed.
Venkat Prabhu has been quoted saying to a newspaper: "The film contains a lot of action sequences and we are starting our Mumbai shoot from today (March 16). We will be back from Mumbai only in the second week of April, and by the time talkie portion of the film will be completed."
After that two more songs have to be picturised, and the producers have taken a decision to push the release to June.
A clear indication that with elections and IPL in full bloom, it makes sense to push Mankatha to June.
